thy people
1 Kings 8:53
For You, Lord God, have set them apart as Your inheritance from all the people on earth, as You spoke through Your servant Moses when You brought their ancestors out of Egypt.
Exodus 32:11
But Moses interceded with the LORD his God: "LORD, why does Your anger burn against Your people You brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and a strong hand?
Exodus 32:12
Why should the Egyptians say, 'He brought them out with an evil intent to kill them in the mountains and wipe them off the face of the earth'? Turn from Your great anger and change Your mind about this disaster [planned] for Your people.
Numbers 14:13-19
13
But Moses replied to the LORD, "The Egyptians will hear about it, for by Your strength You brought up this people from them.
14
They will tell [it to] the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that You, LORD, are among these people, how You, Lord, are seen face to face, how Your cloud stands over them, and how You go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and in a pillar of fire by night.
15
If You kill this people with a single blow, the nations that have heard of Your fame will declare,
16
'Since the LORD wasn't able to bring this people into the land He swore to [give] them, He has slaughtered them in the wilderness.'
17
"So now, may My Lord's power be magnified just as You have spoken:
18
The LORD is slow to anger and rich in faithful love, forgiving wrongdoing and rebellion. But He will not leave [the guilty] unpunished, bringing the consequences of the fathers' wrongdoing on the children to the third and fourth generation.
19
Please pardon the wrongdoing of this people in keeping with the greatness of Your faithful love, just as You have forgiven them from Egypt until now."
Deuteronomy 9:26-29
26
I prayed to the LORD: Lord God, do not annihilate Your people, Your inheritance, whom You redeemed through Your greatness and brought out of Egypt with a strong hand.
27
Remember Your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Disregard this people's stubbornness, and their wickedness and sin.
28
Otherwise, those in the land you brought us from will say, 'Because the LORD wasn't able to bring them into the land He had promised them, and because He hated them, He brought them out to kill them in the wilderness.'
29
But they are Your people, Your inheritance, whom You brought out by Your great power and outstretched arm.
2 Chronicles 6:39
may You hear in heaven, in Your dwelling place, their prayer and petitions and uphold their cause. May You forgive Your people who sinned against You.
Nehemiah 1:10
They are Your servants and Your people. You redeemed [them] by Your great power and strong hand.
Isaiah 63:16-18
16
Yet You are our Father, even though Abraham does not know us and Israel doesn't recognize us. You, LORD, are our Father; from ancient times, Your name is our Redeemer.
17
Why, LORD, do You make us stray from Your ways? You harden our hearts so we do not fear You. Return, because of Your servants, the tribes of Your heritage.
18
Your holy people had a possession for a little while, [but] our enemies have trampled down Your sanctuary.
Isaiah 64:9
LORD, do not be terribly angry or remember [our] iniquity forever. Please look-- all of us are Your people!
Jeremiah 51:19
Jacob's Portion is not like these because He is the One who formed all things. [Israel is] the tribe of His inheritance; the LORD of Hosts is His name.
the furnace
Deuteronomy 4:20
But the LORD selected you and brought you out of Egypt's iron furnace to be a people for His inheritance, as you are today.
Jeremiah 11:4
which I commanded your ancestors when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the iron furnace. I declared: 'Obey Me, and do everything that I command you, and you will be My people, and I will be your God,'
