Malicious witnesses come forward; they question me about things I do not know.

Then Doeg the Edomite, who was in charge of Saul's servants, answered: "I saw Jesse's son come to Ahimelech son of Ahitub at Nob.

David said to Saul, "Why do you listen to the words of people who say, 'Look, David intends to harm you'?

Nabal asked them, "Who is David? Who is Jesse's son? Many slaves these days are running away from their masters.

The administrators and satraps, therefore, kept trying to find a charge against Daniel regarding the kingdom. But they could find no charge or corruption, for he was trustworthy, and no negligence or corruption was found in him.

Then these men said, "We will never find any charge against this Daniel unless we find something against him concerning the law of his God."

The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false testimony against Jesus so they could put Him to death.

Then Pilate came out to them and said, "What charge do you bring against this man?"

They answered him, "If this man weren't a criminal, we wouldn't have handed Him over to you."

"We have a law," the Jews replied to him, "and according to that law He must die, because He made Himself the Son of God."

For there is nothing reliable in what they say; destruction is within them; their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongues.

Counsel in a man's heart is deep water; but a man of understanding draws it up.

Woe to those who go to great lengths to hide their plans from the LORD. [They do] their works in darkness, and say, "Who sees us? Who knows us?"

The heart is more deceitful than anything else and desperately sick-- who can understand it?

I, the LORD, examine the mind, I test the heart to give to each according to his way, according to what his actions deserve.

Therefore don't judge anything prematurely, before the Lord comes, who will both bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of the hearts. And then praise will come to each one from God.
