Solomon's proverbs: A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son, heartache to his mother.

These too are proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah, king of Judah, copied.

He was wiser than anyone-- wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, Calcol, and Darda, sons of Mahol. His reputation extended to all the surrounding nations.

Solomon composed 3,000 proverbs, and his songs numbered 1,005.

In addition to the Teacher being a wise man, he constantly taught the people knowledge; he weighed, explored, and arranged many proverbs.

"I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. A time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures, but I will tell you plainly about the Father.

Then David comforted his wife Bathsheba; he went and slept with her. She gave birth to a son and named him Solomon.The LORD loved him,

and He sent [a message] through Nathan the prophet, who named him Jedidiah, because of the LORD.

Solomon sat on the throne of his father David, and his kingship was firmly established.

But a son will be born to you; he will be a man of rest. I will give him rest from all his surrounding enemies, for his name will be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel during his reign.

And out of all my sons-- for the LORD has given me many sons-- He has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the LORD's kingdom over Israel.

He died at a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor, and his son Solomon became king in his place.
