Does an ax exalt itself above the one who chops with it? Does a saw magnify itself above the one who saws with it? As if a staff could wave those who lift it! As if a rod could lift what isn't wood!
Who is it you have mocked and blasphemed? Who have you raised [your] voice against and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel!
Because your raging against Me and your arrogance has reached My ears, I will put My hook in your nose and My bit in your mouth; I will make you go back the way you came.
You are still acting arrogantly against My people by not letting them go.
in the morning you will see the LORD's glory because He has heard your complaints about Him. For who are we that you complain about us?"
Moses continued, "The LORD will give you meat to eat this evening and abundant bread in the morning, for He has heard the complaints that you are raising against Him. Who are we? Your complaints are not against us but against the LORD."
Therefore, it is you and all your followers who have conspired against the LORD! As for Aaron, who is he that you should complain about him?"

When they were drunk, they said, "Bring Samson here to entertain us." So they brought Samson from prison, and he entertained them. They had him stand between the pillars.
Samson said to the young man who was leading him by the hand, "Lead me where I can feel the pillars supporting the temple, so I can lean against them."
The temple was full of men and women; all the leaders of the Philistines were there, and about 3,000 men and women were on the roof watching Samson entertain [them].
Those who sit at the city gate talk about me, and drunkards make up songs about me.
They twisted together a crown of thorns, put it on His head, and placed a reed in His right hand. And they knelt down before Him and mocked Him: "Hail, King of the Jews!"
Those who passed by were yelling insults at Him, shaking their heads
and saying, "The One who would demolish the sanctuary and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross!"
In the same way the chief priests, with the scribes and elders, mocked Him and said,
"He saved others, but He cannot save Himself! He is the King of Israel! Let Him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in Him.
He has put His trust in God; let God rescue Him now-- if He wants Him! For He said, 'I am God's Son.'"
In the same way even the criminals who were crucified with Him kept taunting Him.
suffering harm as the payment for unrighteousness. They consider it a pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are blots and blemishes, delighting in their deceptions as they feast with you,
They open their mouths wide against me and say, "Aha, aha! We saw it!"
The people returned safely to Joshua in the camp at Makkedah. No one could say a thing against the Israelites.
His anger tears [at me], and He harasses me. He gnashes His teeth at me. My enemy pierces me with His eyes.
They open their mouths against me and strike my cheeks with contempt; they join themselves together against me.
Everyone who sees me mocks me; they sneer and shake their heads:
They open their mouths against me-- lions, mauling and roaring.
I can count all my bones; people look and stare at me.
All who pass by [scornfully] clap their hands at you. They hiss and shake their heads at Daughter Jerusalem: Is this the city that was called the perfection of beauty, the joy of the whole earth?
All your enemies open their mouths against you. They hiss and gnash [their] teeth, saying, "We have swallowed [her] up. This is the day we have waited for! We have lived to see [it]."
Oh-- sinful nation, people weighed down with iniquity, brood of evildoers, depraved children! They have abandoned the LORD; they have despised the Holy One of Israel; they have turned their backs [on Him].
Woe to the rebellious children! [This is] the LORD's declaration. They carry out a plan, but not Mine, They make an alliance, but against My will, piling sin on top of sin.
They are a rebellious people, deceptive children, children who do not obey the LORD's instruction.
The children are obstinate and hardhearted. I am sending you to them, and you must say to them: This is what the Lord God says.
Israel, you have sinned since the days of Gibeah; they have taken their stand there. Will not war against the unjust overtake them in Gibeah?
the field is the world; and the good seed-- these are the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, and
in which you previously walked according to this worldly age, according to the ruler of the atmospheric domain, the spirit now working in the disobedient.
We too all previously lived among them in our fleshly desires, carrying out the inclinations of our flesh and thoughts, and by nature we were children under wrath, as the others were also.
Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for because of these things God's wrath is coming on the disobedient.
