I was then intimate with the prophetess, and she conceived and gave birth to a son. The LORD said to me, "Name him Maher-shalal-hash-baz,

Then the LORD said to Isaiah, "Go out with your son Shear-jashub to meet Ahaz at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, by the road to the Fuller's Field.

For before the boy knows to reject what is bad and choose what is good, the land of the two kings you dread will be abandoned.

Yet the LORD was pleased to crush Him, and He made Him sick. When You make Him a restitution offering, He will see [His] seed, He will prolong His days, and the will of the LORD will succeed by His hand.

Descendants will serve Him; the next generation will be told about the Lord.

Again, I will trust in Him. And again, Here I am with the children God gave Me.

Now since the children have flesh and blood in common, He also shared in these, so that through His death He might destroy the one holding the power of death-- that is, the Devil--

I have become an ominous sign to many, but You are my strong refuge.

I will turn against that one and make him a sign and a proverb; I will cut him off from among My people. Then you will know that I am the LORD.

What answer will be given to the messengers from that nation? The LORD has founded Zion, and His afflicted people find refuge in her.

The moon will be put to shame and the sun disgraced, because the LORD of Hosts will reign as king on Mount Zion in Jerusalem, and He will [display His] glory in the presence of His elders.

For David said, "The LORD God of Israel has given rest to His people, and He has come to stay in Jerusalem forever.

Sing to the LORD, who dwells in Zion; proclaim His deeds among the peoples.

The LORD says this: "I will return to Zion and live in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the Faithful City, the mountain of the LORD of Hosts, and the Holy Mountain."

Instead, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God (the heavenly Jerusalem), to myriads of angels in festive gathering,
