As for You, You know me, LORD; You see me. You test whether my heart is with You. Drag the wicked away like sheep to slaughter, and set them apart for the day of killing.
But I have not run away from being Your shepherd, and I have not longed for the fatal day. You know my words were spoken in Your presence.
even though You know that I am not wicked and that there is no one who can deliver from Your hand?
LORD my God, if I have done this, if there is injustice on my hands,
if I have done harm to one at peace with me or have plundered my adversary without cause,
may an enemy pursue and overtake me; may he trample me to the ground and leave my honor in the dust. Selah
You have tested my heart; You have visited by night; You have tried me and found nothing [evil]; I have determined that my mouth will not sin.
When they had eaten breakfast, Jesus asked Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he said to Him, "You know that I love You." "Feed My lambs," He told him.
A second time He asked him, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" "Yes, Lord," he said to Him, "You know that I love You." "Shepherd My sheep," He told him.
He asked him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved that He asked him the third time, "Do you love Me?" He said, "Lord, You know everything! You know that I love You." "Feed My sheep," Jesus said.
Knowing, then, the fear of the Lord, we persuade people. We are completely open before God, and I hope we are completely open to your consciences as well.
The LORD informed me, so I knew. Then You helped me to see their deeds,
for I was like a docile lamb led to slaughter. I didn't know that they had devised plots against me: "Let's destroy the tree with its fruit; let's cut him off from the land of the living so that his name will no longer be remembered."
But, LORD of Hosts, who judges righteously, who tests heart and mind, let me see Your vengeance on them, for I have presented my case to You.
LORD of Hosts, testing the righteous and seeing the heart and mind, let me see Your vengeance on them, for I have presented my case to You.
Remember me favorably, my God, for all that I have done for this people.
My God, remember Tobiah and Sanballat for what they have done, and also Noadiah the prophetess and the other prophets who wanted to intimidate me.
Then I instructed the Levites to purify themselves and guard the gates in order to keep the Sabbath day holy. Remember me for this also, my God, and look on me with compassion in keeping with Your abundant, faithful love.
I also arranged for the donation of wood at the appointed times and for the firstfruits. Remember me, my God, with favor.
Remember me, LORD, when You show favor to Your people. Come to me with Your salvation
Help me, LORD my God; save me according to Your faithful love
so they may know that this is Your hand and that You, LORD, have done it.
Though they curse, You will bless. When they rise up, they will be put to shame, but Your servant will rejoice.
My accusers will be clothed with disgrace; they will wear their shame like a cloak.
How many days [must] Your servant [wait]? When will You execute judgment on my persecutors?
Turn to me and be gracious to me, as is [Your] practice toward those who love Your name.
Make my steps steady through Your promise; don't let sin dominate me.
Redeem me from human oppression, and I will keep Your precepts.
Will not God grant justice to His elect who cry out to Him day and night? Will He delay [to help] them?
I tell you that He will swiftly grant them justice. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He find that faith on earth?"
Friends, do not avenge yourselves; instead, leave room for His wrath. For it is written: Vengeance belongs to Me; I will repay, says the Lord.
Alexander the coppersmith did great harm to me. The Lord will repay him according to his works.
They cried out with a loud voice: "O Lord, holy and true, how long until You judge and avenge our blood from those who live on the earth?"
Rejoice over her, heaven, and you saints, apostles, and prophets, because God has executed your judgment on her!
Turn Your angry gaze from me so that I may be cheered up before I die and am gone."
I say: "My God, do not take me in the middle of my life! Your years continue through all generations.
He said, "Please, LORD, remember how I have walked before You faithfully and wholeheartedly, and have done what is good in Your sight." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
Woe is me, my mother, that you gave birth to me, a man who incites dispute and conflict in all the land. I did not lend or borrow, yet everyone curses me.
Therefore, here is what the LORD says concerning the people of Anathoth who want to take your life. They warn, "You must not prophesy in the name of the LORD, or you will certainly die at our hand."
For whenever I speak, I cry out-- I proclaim: Violence and destruction! because the word of the LORD has become for me constant disgrace and derision.
For I have endured insults because of You, and shame has covered my face.
I have become a stranger to my brothers and a foreigner to my mother's sons
because zeal for Your house has consumed me, and the insults of those who insult You have fallen on me.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness, because the kingdom of heaven is theirs.
"Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of Me.
Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
You will be hated by everyone because of My name. But the one who endures to the end will be delivered.
And everyone who has left houses, brothers or sisters, father or mother, children, or fields because of My name will receive 100 times more and will inherit eternal life.
Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you, insult you, and slander your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.
"Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! Take note-- your reward is great in heaven, because this is the way their ancestors used to treat the prophets.
You will be hated by everyone because of My name,
Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or anguish or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
If you are ridiculed for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
None of you, however, should suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a meddler.
But if [anyone suffers] as a Christian, he should not be ashamed, but should glorify God with that name.
