They go with their flocks and herds to seek the LORD but do not find [Him]; He has withdrawn from them.

Set the mercy seat on top of the ark and put the testimony that I will give you into the ark.

I will meet with you there above the mercy seat, between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the testimony; I will speak with you from there about all that I command you regarding the Israelites.

When the priests came out of the holy place, the cloud filled the LORD's temple,

Then Solomon said: The LORD said that He would dwell in thick darkness,

"This is My resting place forever; I will make My home here because I have desired it.

For look, the LORD is coming from His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth will reveal the blood shed on it and will no longer conceal her slain.

He said to me, "Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations that the house of Israel is committing here, so that I must depart from My sanctuary? You will see even greater abominations."

Then the glory of the LORD rose from above the cherubim to the threshold of the temple. The temple was filled with the cloud, and the court was filled with the brightness of the LORD's glory.

The glory of the LORD rose up from within the city and stood on the mountain east of the city.

Look, the LORD is leaving His place and coming down to trample the heights of the earth.

Israel, return to the LORD your God, for you have stumbled in your sin.

Assyria will not save us, we will not ride on horses, and we will no longer proclaim: Our gods! to the work of our hands. For the fatherless receives compassion in You."

"But if they will confess their sin and the sin of their fathers-- their unfaithfulness that they practiced against Me, and how they acted with hostility toward Me,

then I will remember My covenant with Jacob. I will also remember My covenant with Isaac and My covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.

But from there, you will search for the LORD your God, and you will find [Him] when you seek Him with all your heart and all your soul.

He will not leave you, destroy you, or forget the covenant with your fathers that He swore to them by oath, because the LORD your God is a compassionate God.

"When all these things happen to you-- the blessings and curses I have set before you-- and you come to your senses [while you are] in all the nations where the LORD your God has driven you,

then He will restore your fortunes, have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the peoples where the LORD your God has scattered you.

and when they come to their senses in the land where they were deported and repent and petition You in their captors' land: "We have sinned and done wrong; we have been wicked,"

and when they return to You with their whole mind and heart in the land of their enemies who took them captive, and when they pray to You in the direction of their land that You gave their ancestors, the city You have chosen, and the temple I have built for Your name,

When they sin against You-- for there is no one who does not sin-- and You are angry with them and hand them over to the enemy, and their captors deport them to a distant or nearby country,

and when they come to their senses in the land where they were deported and repent and petition You in their captors' land, saying: "We have sinned and done wrong; we have been wicked,"

and My people who are called by My name humble themselves, pray and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.

Please remember what You commanded Your servant Moses: "[If] you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the peoples.

But if you return to Me and carefully observe My commands, even though your exiles were banished to the ends of the earth, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place where I chose to have My name dwell."

He will look at men and say, "I have sinned and perverted what was right; yet I did not get what I deserved.

You welcome the one who joyfully does what is right; they remember You in Your ways. But we have sinned, and You were angry; we will remain in Your ways and be saved.

No one calls on Your name, striving to take hold of You. For You have hidden Your face from us and made us melt because ofour iniquity.

LORD, do not be terribly angry or remember [our] iniquity forever. Please look-- all of us are Your people!

Only acknowledge your guilt-- you have rebelled against the LORD your God. You have scattered your favors to strangers under every green tree and have not obeyed My voice. [This is] the LORD's declaration.

You will call to Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.

I will be found by you"-- the LORD's declaration-- "and I will restore your fortunesand gather you from all the nations and places where I banished you"-- the LORD's declaration. "I will restore you to the place I deported you from."

I have heard Ephraim moaning: You disciplined me, and I have been disciplined like an untrained calf. Restore me, and I will return, for you, LORD, are my God.

Isn't Ephraim a precious son to Me, a delightful child? Whenever I speak against him, I certainly still think about him. Therefore, My inner being yearns for him; I will truly have compassion on him. [This is] the LORD's declaration.

Then your survivors will remember Me among the nations where they are taken captive, how I was crushed by their promiscuous hearts that turned away from Me and by their eyes that lusted after their idols. They will loathe themselves because of the evil things they did, their abominations of every kind.

There you will remember your ways and all your deeds you have defiled yourselves with, and you will loathe yourselves for all the evil things you have done.

"Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good, and you will loathe yourselves for your iniquities and abominations.

I prayed to the LORD my God and confessed: Ah, Lord-- the great and awe-inspiring God who keeps His gracious covenant with those who love Him and keep His commandments--

We have not listened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings, leaders, fathers, and all the people of the land.

LORD, public shame belongs to us, our kings, our leaders, and our fathers, because we have sinned against You.

and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God by following His instructions that He set before us through His servants the prophets.

He has carried out His words that He spoke against us and against our rulers by bringing on us so great a disaster that nothing like what has been done to Jerusalem has ever been done under all of heaven.

Then the Israelites cried out to the LORD, because Jabin had 900 iron chariots, and he harshly oppressed them 20 years.

So Israel became poverty stricken because of Midian, and the Israelites cried out to the LORD.

When the Israelites cried out to Him because of Midian,

so they cried out to the LORD, saying, "We have sinned against You. We have abandoned our God and worshiped the Baals."

Sidonians, Amalekites, and Maonites oppressed you, and you cried out to Me, did I not deliver you from their power?

Go and cry out to the gods you have chosen. Let them deliver you in the time of your oppression."

So they got rid of the foreign gods among them and worshiped the LORD, but He became weary of Israel's misery.

When he was in distress, he sought the favor of the LORD his God and earnestly humbled himself before the God of his ancestors.

He prayed to Him, so He heard his petition and granted his request, and brought him back to Jerusalem, to his kingdom. So Manasseh came to know that the LORD is God.

For what hope does the godless man have when he is cut off, when God takes away his life?

Will he delight in the Almighty? Will he call on God at all times?

Call on Me in a day of trouble; I will rescue you, and you will honor Me."

When He killed [some of] them, [the rest] began to seek Him; they repented and searched for God.

Cover their faces with shame so that they will seek Your name, LORD.

when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when trouble and stress overcome you.

Then they will call me, but I won't answer; they will search for me, but won't find me.

I love those who love me, and those who search for me find me.

I long for You in the night; yes, my spirit within me diligently seeks You, for when Your judgments are [in] the land, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

LORD, they went to You in their distress; they poured out whispered [prayers because] Your discipline [fell] on them.

say to a tree: You are my father, and to a stone: You gave birth to me. For they have turned their back to Me and not their face, but in their time of disaster they beg: Rise up and save us!

Gather yourselves together; gather together, undesirable nation,

Seek the LORD, all you humble of the earth, who carry out what He commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you will be concealed on the day of the LORD's anger.

once the homeowner gets up and shuts the door. Then you will stand outside and knock on the door, saying, 'Lord, open up for us!' He will answer you, 'I don't know you or where you're from.'
