When Jesus heard this, He told him, "You still lack one thing: sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me."

I have asked one thing from the LORD; it is what I desire: to dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, gazing on the beauty of the LORD and seeking [Him] in His temple.

Whom do I have in heaven but You? And I desire nothing on earth but You.

When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is: fear God and keep His commands, because this [is for] all humanity.

For what does it benefit a man to gain the whole world yet lose his life?

This is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and the One You have sent-- Jesus Christ.

And if I donate all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision accomplishes anything; what matters is faith working through love.

and you have been filled by Him, who is the head over every ruler and authority.

Having been buried with Him in baptism, you were also raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.

He erased the certificate of debt, with its obligations, that was against us and opposed to us, and has taken it out of the way by nailing it to the cross.

Therefore don't let anyone judge you in regard to food and drink or in the matter of a festival or a new moon or a sabbath day.

Let no one disqualify you, insisting on ascetic practices and the worship of angels, claiming access to a visionary realm and inflated without cause by his fleshly mind.

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

The one who has the Son has life. The one who doesn't have the Son of God does not have life.

I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live,

But if it doesn't please you to worship the LORD, choose for yourselves today the one you will worship: the gods your fathers worshiped beyond the Euphrates River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. As for me and my family, we will worship the LORD."

Joshua then told the people, "You are witnesses against yourselves that you yourselves have chosen to worship the LORD." "We are witnesses," they said.

But I will see Your face in righteousness; when I awake, I will be satisfied with Your presence.

I have chosen the way of truth; I have set Your ordinances [before me].

I have Your decrees as a heritage forever; indeed, they are the joy of my heart.

May Your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen Your precepts.

LORD, You are my portion and my cup [of blessing]; You hold my future.

The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.

I cry to You, LORD; I say, "You are my shelter, my portion in the land of the living."

Therefore, take care how you listen. For whoever has, more will be given to him; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken away from him."

"But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life is demanded of you. And the things you have prepared-- whose will they be?'

Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Make money-bags for yourselves that won't grow old, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.

So he called the manager in and asked, 'What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your management, because you can no longer be [my] manager.'

" 'Son,' Abraham said, 'remember that during your life you received your good things, just as Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here, while you are in agony.

But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again-- ever! In fact, the water I will give him will become a well of water springing up within him for eternal life."

"I assure you: Anyone who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life.

My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me.

I give them eternal life, and they will never perish-- ever! No one will snatch them out of My hand.

Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or anguish or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

No, in all these things we are more than victorious through Him who loved us.

nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!

For you have died, and your life is hidden with the Messiah in God.

When the Messiah, who is your life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

and into an inheritance that is imperishable, uncorrupted, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,

who are being protected by God's power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
