Didn't Moses give you the law? Yet none of you keeps the law! Why do you want to kill Me?"

The Pharisees heard the crowd muttering these things about Him, so the chief priests and the Pharisees sent temple police to arrest Him.

I know you are descendants of Abraham, but you are trying to kill Me because My word is not welcome among you.

At that, they picked up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus was hidden and went out of the temple complex.

Again the Jews picked up rocks to stone Him.

Then they were trying again to seize Him, yet He eluded their grasp.

The chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where He was, he should report it so they could arrest Him.

Then the chief priests and the scribes heard it and started looking for a way to destroy Him. For they were afraid of Him, because the whole crowd was astonished by His teaching.

Every day He was teaching in the temple complex. The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people were looking for a way to destroy Him,

but they could not find a way to do it, because all the people were captivated by what they heard.

Then the scribes and the chief priests looked for a way to get their hands on Him that very hour, because they knew He had told this parable against them, but they feared the people.

Jesus told them, "My time has not yet arrived, but your time is always at hand.

Go up to the festival yourselves. I'm not going up to the festival yet, because My time has not yet fully come."

Some of them wanted to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him.

The police answered, "No man ever spoke like this!"

He spoke these words by the treasury, while teaching in the temple complex. But no one seized Him, because His hour had not come.

We must do the works of Him who sent Me while it is day. Night is coming when no one can work.

"Aren't there 12 hours in a day?" Jesus answered. "If anyone walks during the day, he doesn't stumble, because he sees the light of this world.

If anyone walks during the night, he does stumble, because the light is not in him."

Even human wrath will praise You; You will clothe Yourself with their remaining wrath.

I declare the end from the beginning, and from long ago what is not yet done, saying: My plan will take place, and I will do all My will.

He said to them, "Go tell that fox, 'Look! I'm driving out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will complete My work.'

Yet I must travel today, tomorrow, and the next day, because it is not possible for a prophet to perish outside of Jerusalem!

Every day while I was with you in the temple complex, you never laid a hand on Me. But this is your hour-- and the dominion of darkness."
