After the reading of the Law and the Prophets, the leaders of the synagogue sent [word] to them, saying, "Brothers, if you have any message of encouragement for the people, you can speak."

The God of this people Israel chose our forefathers, exalted the people during their stay in the land of Egypt, and led them out of it with a mighty arm.

Then Paul and Barnabas boldly said: "It was necessary that God's message be spoken to you first. But since you reject it, and consider yourselves unworthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles!

God raised up His Servant and sent Him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your evil ways."

Are You not our God who drove out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel and who gave it forever to the descendants of Abraham Your friend?

You offspring of Abraham His servant, Jacob's descendants-- His chosen ones.

He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and judgments to Israel.

He has not done this for any nation; they do not know [His] judgments. Hallelujah!

But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, descendant of Abraham, My friend--

"Listen to this, house of Jacob-- those who are called by the name Israel and have descended from Judah, who swear by the name of the LORD and declare the God of Israel, [but] not in truth or righteousness.

Listen to Me, you who pursue righteousness, you who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were cut, and to the quarry from which you were dug.

Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who gave birth to you in pain. When I called him, he was only one; I blessed him and made him many.

And don't presume to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I tell you that God is able to raise up children for Abraham from these stones!

Instead, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

and repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Then standing up, Paul motioned with his hand and spoke: "Men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen!

After the synagogue had been dismissed, many of the Jews and devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who were speaking with them and persuading them to continue in the grace of God.

but in every nation the person who fears Him and does righteousness is acceptable to Him.

As she followed Paul and us she cried out, "These men are the slaves of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation."

Therefore, let it be known to you that this saving work of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen!"

I am bringing My justice near; it is not far away, and My salvation will not delay. I will put salvation in Zion, My splendor in Israel.

He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David,

to give His people knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God's power for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek.

that is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed the message of reconciliation to us.

He made the One who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation-- in Him when you believed-- were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.

because of the hope reserved for you in heaven. You have already heard about [this hope] in the message of truth,
