The LORD judges the peoples; vindicate me, LORD, according to my righteousness and my integrity.

On high, He summons heaven and earth in order to judge His people.

before the LORD, for He is coming-- for He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness and the peoples with His faithfulness.

For the LORD will judge His people and have compassion on His servants.

Whenever the LORD raised up a judge for the Israelites, the LORD was with him and saved the people from the power of their enemies while the judge was still alive. The LORD was moved to pity whenever they groaned because of those who were oppressing and afflicting them.

But the Israelites said, "We have sinned. Deal with us as You see fit; only deliver us today!"

So they got rid of the foreign gods among them and worshiped the LORD, but He became weary of Israel's misery.

Lord-- how long? Turn and have compassion on Your servants.

remembered His covenant with them, and relented according to the abundance of His faithful love.

Isn't Ephraim a precious son to Me, a delightful child? Whenever I speak against him, I certainly still think about him. Therefore, My inner being yearns for him; I will truly have compassion on him. [This is] the LORD's declaration.

Who knows? He may turn and relent and leave a blessing behind Him, [so you can] offer grain and wine to the LORD your God.

The LORD relented concerning this. "It will not happen," He said.

Because of all this, I am about to bring disaster on the house of Jeroboam: I will eliminate all of Jeroboam's males, both slave and free, in Israel; I will sweep away the house of Jeroboam as one sweeps away dung until it is all gone!

This is what the LORD says: 'I am about to bring disaster on you and will sweep away your descendants: I will eliminate all of Ahab's males, both slave and free, in Israel;

The whole house of Ahab will perish, and I will eliminate all of Ahab's males, both slave and free, in Israel.

For the LORD saw that the affliction of Israel was very bitter. There was no one to help Israel, neither bond nor free.
