"Then the priest is to write these curses on a scroll and wash [them] off into the bitter water.
Do not cover their guilt or let their sin be erased from Your sight, because they have provoked the builders.
[For the choir director. A Davidic psalm, when Nathan the prophet came to him after he had gone to Bathsheba.] Be gracious to me, God, according to Your faithful love; according to Your abundant compassion, blot out my rebellion.
Turn Your face away from my sins and blot out all my guilt.
"It is I who sweep away your transgressions for My own sake and remember your sins no more.
I have swept away your transgressions like a cloud, and your sins like a mist. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.
Therefore repent and turn back, that your sins may be wiped out so that seasons of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
If you died with Christ to the elemental forces of this world, why do you live as if you still belonged to the world? Why do you submit to regulations:
The royal scribes were summoned on the thirteenth day of the first month, and the order was written exactly as Haman commanded. [It was intended for] the royal satraps, the governors of each of the provinces, and the officials of each ethnic group and written for each province in its own script and to each ethnic group in its own language. It was written in the name of King Ahasuerus and sealed with the royal signet ring.
You may write in the king's name whatever pleases you concerning the Jews, and seal it with the royal signet ring. A document written in the king's name and sealed with the royal signet ring cannot be revoked."
The king called out to bring in the mediums, Chaldeans, and astrologers. He said to these wise men of Babylon, "Whoever reads this inscription and gives me its interpretation will be clothed in purple, have a gold chain around his neck, and have the third highest position in the kingdom."
So all the king's wise men came in, but none could read the inscription or make known its interpretation to him.
Both were righteous in God's sight, living without blame according to all the commandments and requirements of the Lord.
Now I say that as long as the heir is a child, he differs in no way from a slave, though he is the owner of everything.
Instead, he is under guardians and stewards until the time set by his father.
In the same way we also, when we were children, were in slavery under the elemental forces of the world.
But when the completion of the time came, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
For He is our peace, who made both groups one and tore down the dividing wall of hostility. In His flesh,
He did away with the law of the commandments in regulations, so that He might create in Himself one new man from the two, resulting in peace.
[He did this so] that He might reconcile both to God in one body through the cross and put the hostility to death by it.
So the previous commandment is annulled because it was weak and unprofitable
By saying, a new [ covenant], He has declared that the first is old. And what is old and aging is about to disappear.
This is a symbol for the present time, during which gifts and sacrifices are offered that cannot perfect the worshiper's conscience.
They are physical regulations and only deal with food, drink, and various washings imposed until the time of restoration.
After He says above, You did not desire or delight in sacrifices and offerings, whole burnt offerings and sin offerings, (which are offered according to the law),
He then says, See, I have come to do Your will. He takes away the first to establish the second.
He said, "Build it up, build it up, prepare the way, remove [every] obstacle from My people's way."
For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; but the one now restraining will do so until he is out of the way,
