Woe to us, who will rescue us from the hand of these magnificent gods? These are the gods that slaughtered the Egyptians with all kinds of plagues in the wilderness.

Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Ask the LORD that He remove the frogs from me and my people. Then I will let the people go and they can sacrifice to the LORD."

Pharaoh responded, "I will let you go and sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness, but don't go very far. Make an appeal for me."

Make an appeal to the LORD. There has been enough of God's thunder and hail. I will let you go; you don't need to stay any longer."

Pharaoh's officials asked him, "How long must this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, so that they may worship the LORD their God. Don't you realize yet that Egypt is devastated?"

Now the Egyptians pressured the people in order to send them quickly out of the country, for they said, "We're all going to die!"

The men of Beth-shemesh asked, "Who is able to stand in the presence of this holy LORD God? Who should the ark go to from here?"

David feared the LORD that day and said, "How can the ark of the LORD ever come to me?"

David was angry because of the LORD's outburst against Uzzah, so he named that place Outburst Against Uzzah, as it is [still named] today.

So David did not move the ark of God home to the city of David; instead, he took it to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

For the LORD our God burst out [in anger] against us because you Levites were not [with] us the first time, for we didn't inquire of Him about the proper procedures."

When the people of Ashdod got up early the next morning, there was Dagon, fallen with his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD. So they took Dagon and returned him to his place.

The LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: "I am about to punish Amon, [god] of Thebes, along with Pharaoh, Egypt, her gods, and her kings-- Pharaoh and those trusting in him.

Because you trust in your works and treasures, you will be captured also. Chemosh will go into exile with his priests and officials.
