Baptism is an extraordinarily important thing, and extraordinarily impactful when done the right way. We get so many emails and questions about it that I decided to spend an entire service talking about it. The reason this is so important is when you read the New Testament, every time a person crosses the line of faith to follow Christ, any time somebody has an AHA moment about Jesus, the Bible says they went out immediately and were baptized.

Time for a Q&A with God: is anyone truly innocent? Either way, the writer wants God to lead him into righteousness. This is a psalm written in trouble; and, in a world like this, there will be always many hearts that can fully sympathize with the sentiments which are expressed in it.

A woman seizes the opportunity to invest in God’s work by providing shelter for one of God’s called servants. That investment invites God to do some incredible things in her life, starting with getting a child she had always wanted but could never have. In this message, we’ll discover ridiculous faith leads to ridiculous investment in God’s work, and I will introduce something I believe God wants our church to do. Get ready – it’s ridiculous.

Every one of us goes through times when we feel disconnected with God. We go through dry spells and one day we wake up and recognize that we’re not as close to God as we use to be. You don’t lose your salvation, but you do lose the joy of it. You lose the passion. You lose the power. You lose the confidence. You lose the closeness that you felt to God. In this message God uses Elisha to ridiculously recover an ax head that fell in the water. It shows us that we CAN recover our spiritual edge.

A businessman says, “I am so far in a financial hole I can never dig myself out.” A single mother of three works a full time job and cleans houses on the side. She says, “There’s just too much. I don’t have any help; I can’t raise these kids.” A widow about to lose her sons to a debtor was desperate for the prophet's help. Her last possession was a jar of olive oil. Elisha told her to collect as many jars as she could, then God did more than she could imagine. When you find yourself on “empty”, you can experience God’s ridiculous provision when you have ridiculous faith.

How many times have we played the “if only” game? If only I had a better job… If only I had more money… If only God would answer this prayer… Throughout life, we all recognize that we have these needs, and we tend to think "if only" I had whatever it is, life would be so much better. What if we allow those needs to drive us to depend on God? The result could be ridiculous faith. In this message we’ll learn that ridiculous faith not only depends on God, it also depends on us.

What's interesting about Elisha is he was very ordinary. He wasn't the son of a priest, he wasn't a monk, and he wasn't like some sort of outward spiritual giant. He was an ordinary guy who was living at home with his parents, working on a farm when God called him to do something incredible. To answer God’s call, Elisha had to do something very ridiculous. In this message we will discover what we have to do to answer God’s call when it comes.

Jesus not only fed thousands with a small lunch —there were leftovers. Twelve baskets full to be exact. The numbers just don’t add up. How does the increase come? The increase comes when Jesus gets involved. That’s when it comes. Join us for the final lesson from the loaves, where we’ll learn what happens when Jesus gets involved in our difficult and impossible situations.

Sometimes we face a situation or a circumstance, and we try to balance it out. But what do you do when you’ve got 5000 people and they all need to be fed. You think I’ll throw in everything I’ve got – five loaves and two fish – but what is that going to do to the scales? What do you do in a circumstance when you throw in everything you’ve got and it just won’t move? In this lesson Bobby shows us how to balance the scales in our favor.

Impossible situations – finances, relationships, diseases, careers – mountains you can’t seem to climb. The good news is with God all things are possible. We just have to learn the lessons. In this message we will discover what to do when our abilities don’t “measure up”.

Instead of a resolution, why not start a New Year’s Revolution? A revolution is defined in many ways, but one definition is “a sudden, complete, or marked change in something”. Isn’t that what we’re really looking for as we start a new year? Join us on New Year’s Day for a “revolutionary” message for starting 2017.
