But Abraham complained to Abimelech because of the water well that Abimelech's servants had seized.

But the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac's herdsmen and said, "The water is ours!" So he named the well Quarrel because they quarreled with him.

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, captives of various passions and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, detesting one another.

For where envy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every kind of evil.

What is the source of the wars and the fights among you? Don't they come from the cravings that are at war within you?

Do everything without grumbling and arguing,

so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God who are faultless in a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine like stars in the world.

Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the time.

so that you may walk properly in the presence of outsiders and not be dependent on anyone.

Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles, so that in a case where they speak against you as those who do evil, they may, by observing your good works, glorify God in a day of visitation.
