The light in his tent grows dark, and the lamp beside him is put out.

How often is the lamp of the wicked put out? Does disaster come on them? Does He apportion destruction in His anger?

LORD, You light my lamp; my God illuminates my darkness.

The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is extinguished.

Whoever curses his father or mother-- his lamp will go out in deep darkness.

For the evil have no future; the lamp of the wicked will be put out.

When you make a decision, it will be carried out, and light will shine on your ways.

Many are saying, "Who can show us anything good?" Look on us with favor, LORD.

Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear [no] danger, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff-- they comfort me.

[Davidic.] The LORD is my light and my salvation-- whom should I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life-- of whom should I be afraid?

For the LORD God is a sun and shield. The LORD gives grace and glory; He does not withhold the good from those who live with integrity.

He will settle disputes among the nations and provide arbitration for many peoples. They will turn their swords into plows and their spears into pruning knives. Nations will not take up the sword against [other] nations, and they will never again train for war.

Then Jesus spoke to them again: "I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life."

I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me would not remain in darkness.

For you were once darkness, but now [you are] light in the Lord. Walk as children of light--

for what makes everything clear is light. Therefore it is said: Get up, sleeper, and rise up from the dead, and the Messiah will shine on you.
