For that would be a disgrace; it would be a crime deserving punishment.
Even if I were in the right, I could not answer. I could only beg my judge for mercy.
There an upright man could reason with Him, and I would escape from my Judge forever.
You could not possibly do such a thing: to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. You could not possibly do that! Won't the Judge of all the earth do what is just?"
"If a man or woman among you in one of your towns that the LORD your God will give you is discovered doing evil in the sight of the LORD your God and violating His covenant
and has gone to worship other gods by bowing down to the sun, moon, or all the stars in the sky-- which I have forbidden--
and if you are told or hear [about it], you must investigate it thoroughly. If the report turns out to be true that this detestable thing has happened in Israel,
you must bring out to your gates that man or woman who has done this evil thing and stone them to death.
The one condemned to die is to be executed on the testimony of two or three witnesses. No one is to be executed on the testimony of a single witness.
The witnesses' hands are to be the first in putting him to death, and after that, the hands of all the people. You must purge the evil from you.

"Then get rid of the foreign gods that are among you and offer your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel."
And Joshua said to all the people, "You see this stone-- it will be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words the LORD said to us, and it will be a witness against you, so that you will not deny your God."
Otherwise, I might have too much and deny You, saying, "Who is the LORD?" or I might have nothing and steal, profaning the name of my God.
They profess to know God, but they deny Him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, and disqualified for any good work.
But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, and will bring swift destruction on themselves.
No one who denies the Son can have the Father; he who confesses the Son has the Father as well.
For certain men, who were designated for this judgment long ago, have come in by stealth; they are ungodly, turning the grace of our God into promiscuity and denying our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
