Would you show partiality to Him or argue the case in His defense?

For the LORD your God is the God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, mighty, and awesome God, showing no partiality and taking no bribe.

And now, may the terror of the LORD be on you. Watch what you do, for there is no injustice or partiality or taking bribes with the LORD our God."

Then Peter began to speak: "In truth, I understand that God doesn't show favoritism,

There is no favoritism with God.

But from those recognized as important (what they really were makes no difference to me; God does not show favoritism)-- those recognized as important added nothing to me.

And masters, treat them the same way, without threatening them, because you know that both their and your Master is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with Him.

For the wrongdoer will be paid back for whatever wrong he has done, and there is no favoritism.

And if you address as Father the One who judges impartially based on each one's work, you are to conduct yourselves in reverence during this time of temporary residence.

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us hold on to grace. By it, we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe;

He leads priests away barefoot and overthrows established leaders.

He pours out contempt on nobles and disarms the strong.

The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers conspire together against the LORD and His Anointed One:

The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord ridicules them.

If you see oppression of the poor and perversion of justice and righteousness in the province, don't be astonished at the situation, because one official protects another official, and higher officials [protect] them.

The LORD brings [this] charge against the elders and leaders of His people: "You have devastated the vineyard. The plunder from the poor is in your houses.

Can your wealth or all [your] physical exertion keep [you] from distress?

They trust in their wealth and boast of their abundant riches.

Yet these cannot redeem a person or pay his ransom to God--

Listen, my dear brothers: Didn't God choose the poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that He has promised to those who love Him?

Did not the One who made me in the womb also make them? Did not the same God form us both in the womb?

The one who oppresses the poor insults their Maker, but one who is kind to the needy honors Him.

The rich and the poor have this in common: the LORD made them both.
