Be horrified at this, heavens; be shocked and utterly appalled. [This is] the LORD's declaration.
For My people have committed a double evil: They have abandoned Me, the fountain of living water, and dug cisterns for themselves, cracked cisterns that cannot hold water.

Yet they didn't listen or pay attention but walked according to their own advice and according to their own stubborn, evil heart. They went backward and not forward.
But they refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder; they closed their ears so they could not hear.
When the people saw that Moses delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said to him, "Come, make us a god who will go before us because this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt-- we don't know what has happened to him!"

You ignored the Rock who gave you birth; you forgot the God who brought you forth.
were not interested in my counsel, and rejected all my correction,
How much worse punishment, do you think one will deserve who has trampled on the Son of God, regarded as profane the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
