But I will confirm My covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this time next year."

The LORD came to Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah what He had promised.

Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the appointed time God had told him.

Those who are full hire themselves out for food, but those who are starving [hunger] no more. The barren woman gives birth to seven, but the woman with many sons pines away.

The man of God cried out against the altar by a revelation from the LORD: "Altar, altar, this is what the LORD says, 'A son will be born to the house of David, named Josiah, and he will sacrifice on you the priests of the high places who are burning incense on you. Human bones will be burned on you.'"

Elisha said, "At this time next year you will have a son in your arms." Then she said, "No, my lord. Man of God, do not deceive your servant."

He gives the childless woman a household, [making her] the joyful mother of children. Hallelujah!

"Rejoice, barren one, who did not give birth; burst into song and shout, you who have not been in labor! For the children of the forsaken one will be more than the children of the married woman," says the LORD.

But the angel said to him: Do not be afraid, Zechariah, because your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you will name him John.

Now listen! You will become silent and unable to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their proper time."

And consider your relative Elizabeth-- even she has conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren.

When a woman is in labor she has pain because her time has come. But when she has given birth to a child, she no longer remembers the suffering because of the joy that a person has been born into the world.

"As the time was drawing near to fulfill the promise that God had made to Abraham, the people flourished and multiplied in Egypt

At this time Moses was born, and he was beautiful before God. He was nursed in his father's home three months,

But when the completion of the time came, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

When the time drew near for him to die, he called his son Joseph and said to him, "If I have found favor in your eyes, put your hand under my thigh [and promise me] that you will deal with me in faithful love. Do not bury me in Egypt.

"Aaron will be gathered to his people; he will not enter the land I have given the Israelites, because you both rebelled against My command at the waters of Meribah.

Remove Aaron's garments and put them on his son Eleazar. Aaron will be gathered [to his people] and die there."

After Moses removed Aaron's garments and put them on his son Eleazar, Aaron died there on top of the mountain. Then Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain.

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go up this mountain of the Abarim [range] and see the land that I have given the Israelites.

When the community quarreled in the Wilderness of Zin, both of you rebelled against My command to show My holiness in their sight at the waters." Those were the waters of Meribah of Kadesh in the Wilderness of Zin.

"At that time I begged the LORD:

Please let me cross over and see the beautiful land on the other side of the Jordan, that good hill country and Lebanon.

So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, as the LORD had said.

Isn't mankind consigned to forced labor on earth? Are not his days like those of a hired hand?

Since man's days are determined and the number of his months depends on You, and [since] You have set limits he cannot pass,

When a man dies, will he come back to life? [If so,] I would wait all the days of my struggle until my relief comes.

In those days Hezekiah became terminally ill. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz came and said to him, "This is what the LORD says: 'Put your affairs in order, for you are about to die; you will not recover.'"

"Go and tell Hezekiah that this is what the LORD God of your ancestor David says: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Look, I am going to add 15 years to your life.

Then they tried to seize Him. Yet no one laid a hand on Him because His hour had not yet come.

And just as it is appointed for people to die once-- and after this, judgment--

This is why God will bring you down forever. He will take you, ripping you out of your tent; He will uproot you from the land of the living. Selah

He broke up the soil, cleared it of stones, and planted it with the finest vines. He built a tower in the middle of it and even hewed out a winepress there. He expected it to yield good grapes, but it yielded worthless grapes.

What more could I have done for My vineyard than I did? Why, when I expected a yield of good grapes, did it yield worthless grapes?

See, today I have set you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and demolish, to build and plant.

At one moment I might announce concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will uproot, tear down, and destroy [it].

At [another] time I announce that I will build and plant a nation or a kingdom.

" 'This is what you are to say to him: This is what the LORD says: What I have built I am about to demolish, and what I have planted I am about to uproot-- the whole land!

" 'An enemy did this!' he told them. " 'So, do you want us to go and gather them up?' the slaves asked him.

" 'No,' he said. 'When you gather up the weeds, you might also uproot the wheat with them.

The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather from His kingdom everything that causes sin and those guilty of lawlessness.

He replied, "Every plant that My heavenly Father didn't plant will be uprooted.
