ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_24 18:15
Yet My people have forgotten Me. They burn incense to false [idols] that make them stumble in their ways-- in the ancient roads-- to walk on [new] paths, not the highway.
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_5 32:7
Remember the days of old; consider the years long past. Ask your father, and he will tell you, your elders, and they will teach you.
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_22 1:7
Tell me, you, the one I love: Where do you pasture your sheep? Where do you let them rest at noon? Why should I be like one who veils herself beside the flocks of your companions?
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_22 1:8
If you do not know, most beautiful of women, follow the tracks of the flock, and pasture your young goats near the shepherds' tents.
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_23 8:20
To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, there will be no dawn for them.
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_39 4:4
"Remember the instruction of Moses My servant, the statutes and ordinances I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_42 16:29
"But Abraham said, 'They have Moses and the prophets; they should listen to them.'
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_43 5:39
You pore over the Scriptures because you think you have eternal life in them, yet they testify about Me.
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_43 5:46
For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, because he wrote about Me.
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_43 5:47
But if you don't believe his writings, how will you believe My words?"
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_44 17:11
The people here were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, since they welcomed the message with eagerness and examined the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_45 4:1-6
1
What then can we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, has found?
2
If Abraham was justified by works, then he has something to brag about-- but not before God.
3
For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness.
4
Now to the one who works, pay is not considered as a gift, but as something owed.
5
But to the one who does not work, but believes on Him who declares righteous the ungodly, his faith is credited for righteousness.
6
Likewise, David also speaks of the blessing of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_45 4:12-6
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_58 6:12
so that you won't become lazy, but imitators of those who inherit the promises through faith and perseverance.
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_58 11:2-40
2
For by it our ancestors were approved.
3
By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen has been made from things that are not visible.
4
By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain [did]. By this he was approved as a righteous man, because God approved his gifts, and even though he is dead, he still speaks through this.
5
By faith, Enoch was taken away so that he did not experience death, and he was not to be found because God took him away. For prior to his transformation he was approved, having pleased God.
6
Now without faith it is impossible to please God, for the one who draws near to Him must believe that He exists and rewards those who seek Him.
7
By faith Noah, after being warned about what was not yet seen, in reverence built an ark to deliver his family. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
8
By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went out to a place he was going to receive as an inheritance; he went out, not knowing where he was going.
9
By faith he stayed as a foreigner in the land of promise, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, co-heirs of the same promise.
10
For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.
11
By faith even Sarah herself, when she was barren, received power to conceive offspring, even though she was past the age, since she considered that the One who had promised was faithful.
12
And therefore from one man-- in fact, from one as good as dead-- came offspring as numerous as the stars of heaven and as innumerable as the grains of sand by the seashore.
13
These all died in faith without having received the promises, but they saw them from a distance, greeted them, and confessed that they were foreigners and temporary residents on the earth.
14
Now those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a homeland.
15
If they had been remembering that land they came from, they would have had opportunity to return.
16
But they now aspire to a better land-- a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.
17
By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac; he who had received the promises was offering up his unique son,
18
about whom it had been said, In Isaac your seed will be called.
19
He considered God to be able even to raise someone from the dead, from which he also got him back as an illustration.
20
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
21
By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and, he worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.
22
By faith Joseph, as he was nearing the end of his life, mentioned the exodus of the sons of Israel and gave instructions concerning his bones.
23
By faith Moses, after he was born, was hidden by his parents for three months, because they saw that the child was beautiful, and they didn't fear the king's edict.
24
By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter
25
and chose to suffer with the people of God rather than to enjoy the short-lived pleasure of sin.
26
For he considered reproach for the sake of the Messiah to be greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, since his attention was on the reward.
27
By faith he left Egypt behind, not being afraid of the king's anger, for he persevered, as one who sees Him who is invisible.
28
By faith he instituted the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn might not touch them.
29
By faith they crossed the Red Sea as though they were on dry land. When the Egyptians attempted to do this, they were drowned.
30
By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after being encircled for seven days.
31
By faith Rahab the prostitute received the spies in peace and didn't perish with those who disobeyed.
32
And what more can I say? Time is too short for me to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets,
33
who by faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions,
34
quenched the raging of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, gained strength after being weak, became mighty in battle, and put foreign armies to flight.
35
Women received their dead raised to life again. Some men were tortured, not accepting release, so that they might gain a better resurrection,
36
and others experienced mockings and scourgings, as well as bonds and imprisonment.
37
They were stoned, they were sawed in two, they died by the sword, they wandered about in sheepskins, in goatskins, destitute, afflicted, and mistreated.
38
The world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts, mountains, caves, and holes in the ground.
39
All these were approved through their faith, but they did not receive what was promised,
40
since God had provided something better for us, so that they would not be made perfect without us.
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_58 12:1
Therefore since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us, and run with endurance the race that lies before us,
and walk
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_24 7:23
However, I did give them this command: Obey Me, and then I will be your God, and you will be My people. You must walk in every way I command you so that it may go well with you."
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_23 2:5
House of Jacob, come and let us walk in the LORD's light.
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_23 30:21
and whenever you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear this command behind you: "This is the way. Walk in it."
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_43 12:35
Jesus answered, "The light will be with you only a little longer. Walk while you have the light so that darkness doesn't overtake you. The one who walks in darkness doesn't know where he's going.
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_43 13:17
If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them.
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_51 2:6
Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in Him,
ye shall
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_23 28:12
He had said to them: "This is the place of rest, let the weary rest; this is the place of repose." But they would not listen.
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_40 11:28
"Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_40 11:29
All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves.
We will
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_24 2:25
Keep your feet from going bare and your throat from thirst. But you say: It's hopeless; I love strangers, and I will continue to follow them.
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_24 18:12
But they will say: It's hopeless. We will continue to follow our plans, and each of us will continue to act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart."
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_24 22:21
I spoke to you when you were secure. You said: I will not listen. This has been your way since youth; indeed, you have never listened to Me.
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_24 44:16
"As for the word you spoke to us in the name of the LORD, we are not going to listen to you!
ZEFANIABIBLE_BIBLE_BOOK_NAME_40 21:28-32
28
"But what do you think? A man had two sons. He went to the first and said, 'My son, go, work in the vineyard today.'
29
"He answered, 'I don't want to!' Yet later he changed his mind and went.
30
Then the man went to the other and said the same thing. " 'I will, sir,' he answered. But he didn't go.
31
"Which of the two did his father's will?" "The first," they said. Jesus said to them, "I assure you: Tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you!
32
For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn't believe him. Tax collectors and prostitutes did believe him, but you, when you saw it, didn't even change your minds then and believe him.
