As soon as the angels got them outside, one of them said, "Run for your lives! Don't look back and don't stop anywhere on the plain! Run to the mountains, or you will be swept away!"

Your servant has indeed found favor in Your sight, and You have shown me great kindness by saving my life. But I can't run to the mountains; the disaster will overtake me, and I will die.

And he said to him, "All right, I'll grant your request about this matter too, and will not overthrow the town you mentioned.

Samuel asked, "How can I go? Saul will hear [about it] and kill me!" The LORD answered, "Take a young cow with you and say, 'I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.'

"Lord," Ananias answered, "I have heard from many people about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem.

And he has authority here from the chief priests to arrest all who call on Your name."

And being warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their own country by another route.

But after he had considered these things, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, don't be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because what has been conceived in her is by the Holy Spirit.

"This God, our God forever and ever-- He will lead us eternally."

You guide me with Your counsel, and afterwards You will take me up in glory.

Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He rescued them from their distress.

He led them by the right path to go to a city where they could live.

The LORD will protect your coming and going both now and forever.

and whenever you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear this command behind you: "This is the way. Walk in it."

This is what the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says: I am the LORD your God, who teaches you for [your] benefit, who leads you in the way you should go.

If only you had paid attention to My commands. Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan, to be baptized by him.

When they had completed everything according to the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth.

Others said, "This is the Messiah!" But some said, "Surely the Messiah doesn't come from Galilee, does He?

Doesn't the Scripture say that the Messiah comes from David's offspring and from the town of Bethlehem, where David once lived?"

"You aren't from Galilee too, are you?" they replied. "Investigate and you will see that no prophet arises from Galilee."
