After looking around at them with anger and sorrow at the hardness of their hearts, He told the man, "Stretch out your hand." So he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.

So He was looking around to see who had done this.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, "I assure you: It will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven!

When the disciples heard this, they were utterly astonished and asked, "Then who can be saved?"

Seeing that he became sad, Jesus said, "How hard it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!

Brothers, consider your calling: not many are wise from a human perspective, not many powerful, not many of noble birth.

Listen, my dear brothers: Didn't God choose the poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that He has promised to those who love Him?

Adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? So whoever wants to be the world's friend becomes God's enemy.

I assure you: Whoever does not welcome the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."

"I assure you," He said, "unless you are converted and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus answered, "I assure you: Unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly supplied to you.
