When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he encouraged all of them to remain true to the Lord with a firm resolve of the heart--

for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith-- and large numbers of people were added to the Lord.

Then he went to Tarsus to search for Saul,

and when he found him he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught large numbers, and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

In those days some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.

In the local church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius the Cyrenian, Manaen, a close friend of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

From there they sailed back to Antioch where they had been entrusted to the grace of God for the work they had completed.

Then, being sent off, they went down to Antioch, and after gathering the assembly, they delivered the letter.
