However, he shook the creature off into the fire and suffered no harm.

Now the serpent was the most cunning of all the wild animals that the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You can't eat from any tree in the garden'?"

But wild animals will lie down there, and owls will fill the houses. Ostriches will dwell there, and wild goats will leap about.

Hyenas will howl in the fortresses, and jackals, in the luxurious palaces. Babylon's time is almost up; her days are almost over.

The animals of the field will honor Me, jackals and ostriches, because I provide water in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My chosen people.

This is the self-assured city that lives in security, that thinks to herself: I am, and there is no one besides me. What a desolation she has become, a place for wild animals to lie down! Everyone who passes by her jeers and shakes his fist.

And He responded to them, "Do you think that these Galileans were more sinful than all Galileans because they suffered these things?

Or those 18 that the tower in Siloam fell on and killed-- do you think they were more sinful than all the people who live in Jerusalem?

But the cowards, unbelievers, vile, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars-- their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."
