and requested letters from him to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any who belonged to the Way, either men or women, he might bring them as prisoners to Jerusalem.

As he traveled and was nearing Damascus, a light from heaven suddenly flashed around him.

But all who heard him were astounded and said, "Isn't this the man who, in Jerusalem, was destroying those who called on this name, and then came here for the purpose of taking them as prisoners to the chief priests?"

They were stoning Stephen as he called out: "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!"

And now, why delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins by calling on His name.'

for there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, since the same Lord of all is rich to all who call on Him.

But how can they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe without hearing about Him? And how can they hear without a preacher?

To God's church at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus and called as saints, with all those in every place who call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord-- theirs and ours.

Flee from youthful passions, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
