Someone named Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good reputation with all the Jews residing there,

came to me, stood by me, and said, 'Brother Saul, regain your sight.' And in that very hour I looked up and saw him.

They had them stand before the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.

Then Peter and John laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

Then, after they had fasted, prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them off.

And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began to speak with [other] languages and to prophesy.

Then children were brought to Him so He might put His hands on them and pray. But the disciples rebuked them.

So He was not able to do any miracles there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.

Do not neglect the gift that is in you; it was given to you through prophecy, with the laying on of hands by the council of elders.

Don't be too quick to lay hands on anyone, and don't share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.

Therefore, I remind you to keep ablaze the gift of God that is in you through the laying on of my hands.

teaching about ritual washings, laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

"Lord," Ananias answered, "I have heard from many people about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem.

And he has authority here from the chief priests to arrest all who call on Your name."

When they heard it, they glorified God and said, "You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are who have believed, and they are all zealous for the law.

came to me, stood by me, and said, 'Brother Saul, regain your sight.' And in that very hour I looked up and saw him.

Then Joseph said to his brothers, "Please, come near me," and they came near. "I am Joseph, your brother," he said, "the one you sold into Egypt.

But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your assets with prostitutes, you slaughtered the fattened calf for him.'

But we had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.'"

Therefore accept one another, just as the Messiah also accepted you, to the glory of God.

no longer as a slave, but more than a slave-- as a dearly loved brother. This is especially so to me, but even more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.

By obedience to the truth, having purified yourselves for sincere love of the brothers, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,

since you have been born again-- not of perishable seed but of imperishable-- through the living and enduring word of God.

Falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?"

"Who are You, Lord?" he said. "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting," He replied.

Now in Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. And the Lord said to him in a vision, "Ananias!" "Here I am, Lord!" he said.

"Get up and go to the street called Straight," the Lord said to him, "to the house of Judas, and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, since he is praying there.

But the Lord said to him, "Go! For this man is My chosen instrument to carry My name before Gentiles, kings, and the sons of Israel.

He sent the message to the sons of Israel, proclaiming the good news of peace through Jesus Christ-- He is Lord of all.

Then he said, 'The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will, to see the Righteous One, and to hear the sound of His voice.

"But I said, 'Who are You, Lord?' "And the Lord replied: 'I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.

He will turn many of the sons of Israel to the Lord their God.

And he will go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the disobedient to the understanding of the righteous, to make ready for the Lord a prepared people.

And child, you will be called a prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to prepare His ways,

today a Savior, who is Messiah the Lord, was born for you in the city of David.

Last of all, as to one abnormally born, He also appeared to me.

The first man was from the earth and made of dust; the second man is from heaven.

Then Saul got up from the ground, and though his eyes were open, he could see nothing. So they took him by the hand and led him into Damascus.

He was unable to see for three days, and did not eat or drink.

In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and placing his hands on him so he may regain his sight."

Then they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit gave them ability for speech.

When they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak God's message with boldness.

Then Peter and John laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

And the disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.
