Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.
Your basket and kneading bowl will be blessed.
Let their table set before them be a snare, and let it be a trap for [their] allies.
For the waywardness of the inexperienced will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them.
You have planted much but harvested little. You eat but never have enough to be satisfied. You drink but never have enough to become drunk. You put on clothes but never have enough to get warm. The wage earner [puts his] wages into a bag with a hole in it."
Then he said to me, "This is the curse that is going out over the whole land, for every thief will be removed according to what is written on one side, and everyone who swears [falsely] will be removed according to what is written on the other side.
I will send it out,"-- the declaration of the LORD of Hosts-- "and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by My name. It will stay inside his house and destroy it along with its timbers and stones."
If you don't listen, and if you don't take it to heart to honor My name," says the LORD of Hosts, "I will send a curse among you, and I will curse your blessings. In fact, I have already begun to curse them because you are not taking it to heart.
