Do not covet your neighbor's house. Do not covet your neighbor's wife, his male or female slave, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

When I saw among the spoils a beautiful cloak from Babylon, 200 silver shekels, and a bar of gold weighing 50 shekels, I coveted them and took them. You can see for yourself. They are concealed in the ground inside my tent, with the money under the cloak."

For the wicked one boasts about his own cravings; the one who is greedy curses and despises the LORD.

Turn my heart to Your decrees and not to material gain.

For from the least to the greatest of them, everyone is gaining profit unjustly. From prophet to priest, everyone deals falsely.

So My people come to you in crowds, sit in front of you, and hear your words, but they don't obey them. Although they express love with their mouths, their hearts pursue unjust gain.

adulteries, greed, evil actions, deceit, lewdness, stinginess, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.

As for the seed that fell among thorns, these are the ones who, when they have heard, go on their way and are choked with worries, riches, and pleasures of life, and produce no mature fruit.

He then told them, "Watch out and be on guard against all greed because one's life is not in the abundance of his possessions."

He thought to himself, 'What should I do, since I don't have anywhere to store my crops?

Then I'll say to myself, "You have many goods stored up for many years. Take it easy; eat, drink, and enjoy yourself."'

"That's how it is with the one who stores up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God."

No household slave can be the slave of two masters, since either he will hate one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can't be slaves to both God and money."

The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, were listening to all these things and scoffing at Him.

They are filled with all unrighteousness, evil, greed, and wickedness. They are full of envy, murder, disputes, deceit, and malice. They are gossips,

But now I am writing you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother who is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a reviler, a drunkard or a swindler. Do not even eat with such a person.

thieves, greedy people, drunkards, revilers, or swindlers will inherit God's kingdom.

But sexual immorality and any impurity or greed should not even be heard of among you, as is proper for saints.

For know and recognize this: no sexually immoral or impure or greedy person, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of the Messiah and of God.

Therefore, put to death whatever in you is worldly: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry.

not addicted to wine, not a bully but gentle, not quarrelsome, not greedy--

But those who want to be rich fall into temptation, a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge people into ruin and destruction.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and by craving it, some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pains.

In their greed they will exploit you with deceptive words. Their condemnation, [pronounced] long ago, is not idle, and their destruction does not sleep.

having eyes full of adultery and always looking for sin, seducing unstable people, and with hearts trained in greed. Accursed children!

Woe to them! For they have traveled in the way of Cain, have abandoned themselves to the error of Balaam for profit, and have perished in Korah's rebellion.

Moses agreed to stay with the man, and he gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses [in marriage].

"This is why I tell you: Don't worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food and the body more than clothing?

Therefore don't worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Some soldiers also questioned him: "What should we do?" He said to them, "Don't take money from anyone by force or false accusation; be satisfied with your wages."

I don't say this out of need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.

I know both how to have a little, and I know how to have a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret [of being content]-- whether well-fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need.

But godliness with contentment is a great gain.

But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with these.

Look, I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go. I will bring you back to this land, for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you."

Be strong and courageous; don't be terrified or afraid of them. For it is the LORD your God who goes with you; He will not leave you or forsake you."

The LORD is the One who will go before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not be afraid or discouraged."

No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. I will be with you, just as I was with Moses. I will not leave you or forsake you.

The LORD will not abandon His people, because of His great name and because He has determined to make you His own people.

Then David said to his son Solomon, "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don't be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He won't leave you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the LORD's house is finished.

I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous abandoned or his children begging bread.

For the LORD loves justice and will not abandon His faithful ones. They are kept safe forever, but the children of the wicked will be destroyed.

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.

The poor and the needy seek water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. I, the LORD, will answer them; I, the God of Israel, do not forsake them.
