Because we have been raised to new life with Christ (because we died with Christ), we can now change the focus of our desires. We are no longer tied to sin but are free and alive in Jesus Christ. Being raised up with Jesus Christ ought to make a difference in the way we live and in our feelings about God. It requires living with a focus. Our heart, or desires, have to be personally directed toward the things of God, otherwise our lives will spin out of control.

The most important truth in all of Christianity is stated right here: We are made alive together with Christ. Paul says "we are raised to new life." He has come to live in us, and He has joined himself to us, and we are one person with Him. That is the most important fact upon which to build all the rest of Christian faith and experience - this great, tremendous statement that we are made alive with Jesus Christ.

"Rooted and built up in Him..." are the instructions the Apostle Paul gives Christ followers in the second chapter of Colossians. In his letter he rightly makes much of Jesus, highlighting his importance for our salvation and the life that follows. In this series we will explore all the ways we are rooted in Jesus and how it should effect our daily walk. Join us for this four-part series by Discipleship Pastor Jesse Hicks as we explore what it means to be reconciled in Christ, alive in Christ, new in Christ, and guided in Christ.

It's Sunday morning and I'm on my way to church. What should I expect? What is expected of me? What should my mind be focused on? What are my thoughts about myself, my church family, and God. In As We Gather, Discipleship Pastor Jesse Hicks answers those questions and discovers what it means to be intentional every time we come together for worship.

While Jesus walked this earth, He was the Light of the world. And in the Sermon on the Mount, He said to His disciples, “You are the light of the world” (Matt. 5:14). We are not the source of light; Christ is. But as believers, we have His presence dwelling within us through His Holy Spirit. We are merely the beacons through which He shines into this dark world. Join us the Sunday after Christmas for one service only at 11:00 AM, and listen as Discipleship Pastor Jesse Hicks challenges us to shine our light in 2020.
